Sapling provides online homework and assessment solutions to both the higher education and high school markets.

In October of 2008, NLM Capital, in conjunction with company management, purchased common and preferred stock of Miller Drilling Company, Inc. through a newly formed holding company, GeoTech Resources, Inc. Based in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, Miller Drilling provides a full range of specialty drilling services to geo-technical, geo-construction, environmental and water resource markets throughout the Southeastern United States. The company’s diverse rig fleet coupled with its highly experienced rig personnel and technical support organization, provide its customer base a valuable alternative to larger national competitors. The investment by NLM Capital will allow Miller Drilling to continue its geographic expansion and develop a national specialty drilling platform.

In May of 2008, NLM Capital provided growth capital financing to Washington, DC based Millmark Education Corporation. Millmark publishes a number of leading edge supplementary instructional materials for the English Language Learners ("ELL") market, a large and growing segment of the K-12 student population. The company's main product line, ConceptLinks, provides teachers program learning materials to increase reading comprehension, literacy and concept understanding to students who possess a wide range of reading levels.

In January of 2006, NLM backed an entrepreneur in the leveraged acquisition of H&R Accounts, Inc. ("H&R"). H&R is a 37-year-old, Moline, IL-based provider of accounts receivable management services, primarily to healthcare providers. H&R has a well regarded track record and significant growth opportunities. In July, 2007, NLM supported an add-on acquisition at an attractive valuation for H&R that effectively doubled the size of the company.

In July of 2006, NLM made a majority investment in the preferred and common stock of SUNRx, Inc., a Mt. Laurel, NJ–based pharmacy benefits administrator. SUNRx is focused on the turn-key management of prescription drug benefit programs for self-insured corporations and labor organizations. The company combines proprietary data analysis systems with an innovative, transparent benefit model to offer its customers savings of up to 15% on their total prescription drug spending.
